About Racing

If you are interested in competing in cycling events, we have many years experience and can help you get started.

Time Trialling

Organised events where riders are timed individually, or in a team of 2, over a measured course.

The Club is affiliated to a number of national cycling  authorities and organisations including the CTT (Cycling Time Trials). As a members of the club you are entitled to enter any national 'Open' time trial as published in the CTT annual handbook. The Club currently promotes two open time trials each season (see diary of event).

In addition, the club holds a series of "Club" events on Surrey/Sussex courses throughout the racing season (Feb-October). These are either at weekends, usually early morning, or weekday evenings. Club Events are held over distances of 10, 25 and 50 miles. We have a wide range of trophies available to members (see trophy list).

Road and Circuit Racing

Organised events where groups of riders race against each other -
Tour de France style.

The Club is affiliated to British Cycling  (B.C.) which enables riders who have purchased a B.C. racing license to enter road and circuit events as detailed in the annual B.C. handbook.

We are also affiliated to the Surrey Cycle Road Racing League, one of the premier leagues in the country. The SCRRL, in conjunction with member clubs, promote a series of events throughout the season.

Track Racing

Events held on a banked velodrome / cycle track

Some of our members race and train at the Herne Hill Stadium, in South London. This track has a long history and has seen many famous riders over the years. In recent years it has been re-surfaced and continues to attract top class international riders during the renowned Good Friday Meeting.

Indoor Roller Racing

All about pedalling fast and getting nowhere !

The club owns a set of four competition standard rollers. We compete a series of league events during the winter months. In these events Club riders race over 200, 500, and 750 metres.
