Result of evening 10 on the 9^th April 2008

Wednesday saw the first of the seasons evening 10 programme. Fortunately the weather had improved considerably from earlier in the week and the time keeper indicated that it was a float evening. Perhaps if he had participated he may of revised his opinion. Admittedly it was not too windy but it was rather chilly. 

Due, no doubt, to the early start time, only three Road Club members plus a visitor from the Crystal Palace Tri Club faced the time keeper.

The rather sparkling times recorded unfortunately are not quite as good as they first seem. Road works dictated that the course had to turn short at Badgers Mount Roundabout. The final distance was 8.52 miles.

As can be seen from the times Andrew put in a storming ride, Michael's steady but sure ride should not affect his handicap to much, the stylish Louise cracked evens as predicted and yours truly will be looking to the handicapper for help in forthcoming events.  

At the moment there is some uncertainty as to the time scale for completion of the road works and quite where they are going. I will have a chat with the contractors in the next day or so. If the road works allow, it is quite possible that we can come up with a temporary 10 mile course using the Halstead loop. Watch this space.
